Geosystem offers a recognized experience in seismic processing 2D/3D. The company is specialized in the processing (time & depth) of difficult prospects such as complex Thrust Belts.

Specific solutions to the statics problem in laterally-varying near-surface velocity fields are provided, which range from proprietary Tomographic tools to pre-stack wave-equation datuming to flood scattering surfaces.

Pre-stack migration processing approaches are used for structurally complex prospects. These include Full Kirchhoff Pre-Stack Time Migration and Pre-Stack Depth Migration.

Pre-Stack Time Migration is a modern and robust method for imaging complex structures provided that the velocity field does not show strong lateral velocity variations and therefore ray-path distortion is not excessive. In such cases, in fact, Pre-Stack Depth Migration is the method which can account for strong ray-bending in complex velocity fields.

PSDM (Pre-Stack Depth Migration) is much more time consuming than KPSTM but this method, coupled with efficient tomographic velocity determination techniques using the residuals of the post-migrated domain, can provide superior images. Clearer structural or sedimentary relationships between bodies and fault details are generally the reasons which justify the application of further processing efforts through PSDM.

Pre-Stack Depth Migration, in fact, is normally applied to solve the problem of fault shadows and in general when strong lateral velocity variations and complex tectonic settings are expected.
